Canadian River Heritage Conference
The Canadian River Heritage Conference is held every three years, with international participants including professional river managers, advocates, researchers, First Nations representatives, industry spokespeople, academics, scientists, and government partners. This international conference provides a forum for sharing experiences, ideas and best practices in the areas of river heritage conservation, restoration, science and education.
The next conference will be held along the Hillsborough River in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island from June 15-19, 2013.
The main conference theme is:
Rivers: Building Nations...Sustaining Peoples
The subthemes are:
1. The Science of Estuaries: Understanding Our Rivers;
2. Watershed Governance and Self-governance - Motivating Stewardship;
3. The Economies of Rivers;
4. Islands, Rivers, and Sense of Place; and
5. River Cultures across Time.
